Halal Recipe Check is an independent web project built around one practical problem: ingredient labels often look precise while still leaving the source of gelatin, glycerin, emulsifiers, flavors, colors or processing inputs unclear.
Our first product is a text-first Halal Baking Ingredient Checker. It keeps unknown ingredients visible, shows the public source behind a rule, and recommends a next action such as checking current certification, asking the manufacturer, or using a simpler baking substitute.
What we are trying to do well
- Separate an explicit conflict from a source-dependent uncertainty
- Show evidence, market and review date instead of a mysterious score
- Avoid presenting one authority’s position as the opinion of every Muslim
- Keep pasted ingredient text private in the visitor’s browser
- Connect recipes to the ingredient questions that actually change the decision
What we are not
We are not a halal certifier, religious authority, laboratory, manufacturer database or product-testing kitchen. We do not issue certificates or fatwas, and we do not claim that a label review can audit a factory.
The brand does not publish a fictional founder, invented religious credential or location story. The operating focus is the method itself: transparent rules, visible limitations and a correction path.
How to help improve the project
If you find a broken source, missing alias or questionable result, send it through the private corrections form. Please include a current primary or certifier source where possible.
