This policy explains how Halal Recipe Check handles information on halalrecipecheck.com. We designed the ingredient checker so that the most sensitive routine input—the ingredient text you paste—stays in your browser.
Ingredient checker data
The checker runs locally in your browser. Pasted ingredient text is not submitted to our WordPress server, saved in our database, or added to Google Analytics parameters. Closing or refreshing the page clears the checker input unless your browser itself restores form state.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you choose “Allow analytics” in the consent panel. If you choose “Essential only,” the analytics script is not loaded. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask on every page.
When allowed, analytics can record page views and coarse product events such as check start, check completion, result category, selected screening profile and the number of parsed ingredients. It does not include the ingredient names or pasted text. Google may process device, browser, approximate location and referral information according to its own service terms.
Contact and correction submissions
When you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email address, topic and message you provide. The submission is saved as a private record in the WordPress administration area so it can be reviewed. Do not submit passwords, government identifiers, payment information or confidential commercial formulas.
Contact records are intended to be removed after 12 months unless a longer period is reasonably needed to complete a correction, answer a privacy request, prevent abuse or meet a legal obligation.
Server and security logs
Our hosting systems may record IP address, date and time, requested URL, response status, browser user agent and security events. These logs help operate the site, diagnose errors and prevent abuse. Routine web logs are rotated and are not used to reconstruct ingredient text, which is never posted to the server by the checker.
Cookies and local storage
The public checker does not require an account. WordPress may use essential cookies for administrators and security functions. The public consent choice uses local storage. Google Analytics may set analytics cookies only after consent.
External links
Evidence cards link to certifiers, authorities, regulators and other sources. Those websites have their own privacy practices. Following an external link sends a normal web request to that site.
Your choices and requests
You can decline analytics, clear the site’s local storage in your browser, or use the contact form to request access, correction or deletion of a contact submission. Include the same email address used in the original message so we can reasonably locate it.
Children
The site is a general food-information tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly request information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product, hosting or analytics setup changes. The effective date at the top will be revised for a material update.
Contact
Use the privacy request form. It saves the request privately in the site administration dashboard.
